OREANDA-NEWS. On Thursday, May 7, Colonel General Stepan Poltorak, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, held talks with U.S. Congressman Mr. Fred Upton, United States House of Representatives, Chairman of Committee on Energy and Commerce.

“The Ukrainian party praises the U.S. assistance,” Col. Gen. Stepan Poltorak stressed. “Night vision devices, radar stations and other aid save lives of the Ukrainian soldiers in the east of Ukraine.”

Minister of Defence thanked for provided support and remarked the importance of the U.S. political support.

The parties discussed the current situation in the east of Ukraine and the prospects of U.S.-Ukraine cooperation in the terms of settlement of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Mr. Fred Upton pledged that the United States of America would continue supporting Ukraine and expressed his impression by the Ukrainian soldiers.
