Shvabe Has Developed Combined Regenerator for Micro-Cryogenic Systems
OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding has patented a combined regenerator for micro-cryogenic systems designed to cool photodetectors to within a specified temperature range.
The patent for this useful device has been obtained by specialists of a Shvabe Holding enterprise, the science production association Orion. The regenerator created by the specialists is designed for use in micro-cryogenic systems designed to cool photodetectors and multi-purpose photo detecting devices and to also ensure that each micro-cryogenic system works at maximum efficiency within the cryostatting temperature range: between 49-66 Kelvin.
"The development was carried out as per the initiative of Orion's group of designers. At present in Russia there is a significant demand for combined regenerators to cool infrared radiation detectors. Besides this organisation, which manufactures photodetectors and other photo detecting devices for different purposes, other enterprises and research institutes specialising in this field could be potential customrers. I can confidently say that the device is market competitive, and it has an advantage over similar products in that micro-cryogenic systems which use a combined regenerator are more efficient", said Shvabe's deputy general director for R&D and innovative development Nickolai Rakovich.
At present Orion is testing the new device and is working together with potential customers.
Orion's photodetectors and photo detecting devices, which this new device was designed for, are used in many scientific fields: medicine, geology, and nuclear and thermal energy. These devices are also used for border protection, in the fight against crime and terrorism, in rescue operations, and to help locate people in emergency situations and during natural disasters.
