OREANDA-NEWS. The Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE has decided to contribute EUR 200,000 to relief efforts in Nepal following the devastating earthquake and aftershocks that struck this week. BASF will contribute these funds to BASF Stiftung, a charitable foundation based in Germany, which will support the disaster relief activities of its partners, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), as immediate aid to victims of the Nepal earthquake.

The donated funds will be used to deploy relief measures in Nepal such as emergency supplies, food, water, and health support.

Sanjeev Gandhi, Member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE, said, "We extend our heartfelt sympathy to all people affected by this disaster in Nepal. As time is of the essence, we are making this contribution to support urgently needed relief measures."
