Dow Freeport reports unit 7 upset

OREANDA-NEWS. Dow is investigating an upset at its Freeport, Texas light hydrocarbons unit No. 7 on Friday, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The upset resulted in emissions of butadiene, butene, benzene, ethylene, propylene, styrene, toluene, and other materials, which were routed to the flare. Rates to the unit were reduced as the investigation continues.
