Imports of passenger cars in Russia continues to fall in all segments

OREANDA-NEWS. Imports of cars in Russia for the 1st quarter of 2015 fell by 45.4%, light commercial vehicles (LCV) by 72.0%, cargo (HV) – by 75.0%, buses - by 80.8%.

According to the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", the import of passenger cars, imported into Russia by legal entities in March of 2015 was 38.8 thousand units. It increased compared to February by 13.9 thousand units (+ 55.7%). Nevertheless, for the first three months - there is a continuation of the downward trend in imports. During January-March this year, the country imported 87.3 thousand units, which is less by 45.4% than for the same period of the last year (hereinafter - APPG), when it was imported 159.9 thousand units.

Imports of light commercial vehicles (LCV) in March were 1.5 thousand units (at the level of February of this year). By the results of the first quarter of 2015 as a whole it was imported 3.7 thousand units (-72.0% compared to the same period of the last year).

Imports of trucks in March was 0.4 thousand units (it is less by 0.5 thousand units than in February (-53.5%). At the end of the 1st quarter of 2015 as a whole it was imported 1.9 thousand units (it is less by 75.0% than in the APPG).

The imports decreased most of all in the bus segment. For three months of 2015 it was imported 50 units in Russia, it was less by 210 than for the same period of the last year (-80.8%).
