KfW appoints Andreas Ufer to the KfW IPEX-Bank Management Board
“Andreas Ufer is a proven expert in the field of export and project finance and has in-depth knowledge of KfW IPEX-Bank’s business – not only in the front office, but also on the risk side in particular. The Board of Supervisory Directors therefore believes he is the perfect candidate for the important and sensitive position of CRO,” explains Dr Norbert Kloppenburg, Chairman of the Board of Supervisory Directors of KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH and Member of the Executive Board of the KfW Group.
Andreas Ufer has worked for KfW since 1988. Following his traineeship and several years spent working as a project manager in Export and Project Finance, he was seconded to the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology in 1994 for a period of two years. Andreas Ufer became Global Head of Power, Renewables and Water in 2002. In 2014, he took charge of Risk Management within KfW-IPEX Bank, initially jointly with Christiane Laibach, but since February 2015 he has been solely responsible for this division. The business administration graduate is 54 years old, married and has two children.
Additionally, on 1 May 2015, Claudia Schneider will take over the post of Managing Director of KfW IPEX-Bank. She will remain responsible for Finance and Structuring Advisory at KfW IPEX-Bank. Before assuming this role, from 1997 onwards she held various positions at KfW in the area of lending and securitisation, and spent three years at an international credit insurance company. Claudia Schneider was born in 1970, is married and has two children.
