OREANDA-NEWS. April 30, 2015. The Emirates Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today with Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority, at Careers UAE 2015, to recruit 200 UAE nationals across different facets of the business throughout the year. 

In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the agreement was signed at the Emirates Group’s stand by Nasser Bin Kherbash, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President - Human Resources Development and Customer Services and Mohammed Matar Al Marri- Director General of Tanmia. 

“As the aviation and tourism industries continue to expand, the Emirates Group recognises that there will be continuing need for qualified employees at all levels of our organisation,” said Nasser bin Kherbash. “The MOU with Tanmia is the perfect approach to support UAE Nationals, developing their talent and preparing them for career growth at the Emirates Group.”

According to the terms of the MOU, recruits will be nominated by Tanmia based on vacancies provided by the Emirates Group. The Emirates Group will in turn support Tanmia’s open days and communicate all relevant opportunities for UAE Nationals to fill up to 200 positions.

The Emirates Group has recently revealed its three-phased Emiratisation strategy, Rehlaty. The national recruitment strategy, which is currently in its third phase, was implemented two years ago to ensure that UAE Nationals are well-placed in a variety of positions to support the growth of Emirates airline and dnata. 

The National Recruitment and Development division in the Emirates Group includes a dedicated team of 37 to recruit and develop extensive training programmes for UAE nationals. The department makes continuous efforts throughout the year to attract Emiratis, from regular visits to educational institutions and summer training programmes for students, to career fairs across the UAE and proactive recruitment. 

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, Careers UAE 2015, a three-day fair, kicked off yesterday at Dubai World Trade Centre.
