OREANDA-NEWS. National Australia Bank today announced that it will support relief and recovery efforts in Nepal by accepting donations to Save the Children and by waiving fees for International Money Transfers made through internet banking to Nepal.

As relief efforts continue following the recent earthquake that has devastated Nepal, NAB has opened up its store network and internet banking to accept donations to the Save the Children Nepal Earthquake Appeal.

It has also announced that it will apply a fee waiver to fund transfers made via internet banking to Nepal from today until 28 July 2015. The standard NAB fee for this type of transaction is normally set at \$22.

NAB Head of Community Engagement, Rebecca Kotow said that Australia’s Nepalese community, and people who have travelled there are among those keen to show their support in the wake of this devastating earthquake.

“By waiving fees and accepting donations we are offering people the opportunity to lend their support.

“Donations we facilitate on behalf of Save the Children will help with immediate relief efforts, as well as the longer-term rebuilding work. Schools and roads will need to be built, families will need to be reunited and children will need protecting.”

Donations can be made through the NAB branch network, and NAB customers can also make donations through internet banking. All donations of two dollars and over are tax-deductible.
