North Rhine-Westphalia Governor Hannelore Kraft visits Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen
Mr. Guo remarked, "North Rhine-Westphalia is perfectly located, offers a favorable investment environment, and remains open and friendly to investors. This is exactly why Huawei has chosen to develop its business and base its West European Regional Office in Dusseldorf. Germany has unparallel advantages in machinery, electric engineering, and manufacturing, and is also well-known for its craftsmanship. In turn, Huawei has a solid base in both IT and CT. The digital transformation and Industry 4.0, two initiatives now implemented in Germany, provide broad opportunities for cooperation between Huawei and Germany. Huawei is willing to work with local partners, especially SMEs, to drive digital transformation and Industry 4.0 with the aim of benefiting both parties."
Governor Kraft said, "Huawei is an important partner and investor of North Rhine-Westphalia. Huawei, as a key player in the region, has established long-term partnerships with the state. Huawei is a leading global ICT enterprise – we appreciate the contribution that Huawei has made to our state, and we welcome Huawei to participate in the digital ICT and Industry 4.0 programs."
Governor Kraft visited Huawei's exhibition hall where he learned about the latest technologies in areas such as cloud computing, smart cities, e-government, and enterprise networks.
In 2007, Huawei established its German headquarters and the West European Regional Office in Dusseldorf. Huawei employs 1,100 employees in North Rhine-Westphalia, accounting for over 60% of the company's total workforce in Germany. Of these, about 70% are local hires.
