CPChem reports shutdown at Sweeny unit No. 33

OREANDA-NEWS. Severe electrical storms over the weekend caused a forced shutdown of Chevron Phillips' No. 33 ethylene unit at its Sweeny, Texas complex, according to a filing with state regulators.

The storms caused a power outage; operators will return the unit to service after making any necessary repairs.

The unit was last restarted on 26 March following a week-long outage caused by a propylene compressor trip.
