OREANDA-NEWS. April 24, 2015. Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for March 2015, as well as the cumulative figures for the twelve-month period from April 2014 through March 2015.

1. Production

March 2015
Nissan's global production in March decreased 7.6% year-on-year to 448,134 units.

Production in Japan decreased 13.2% year-on-year to 77,069 units.

Production outside Japan decreased 6.4% year-on-year to 371,065 units.

In the U.S., production increased 1.2% year-on-year to 89,995 units, marking an all-time record for the month of March, mainly due to increased demand for the Rogue (X-Trail in other markets) and the new Murano.

In Mexico, production decreased 0.8% year-on-year to 70,055 units.

In the U.K., production decreased 16.7% year-on-year to 43,499 units.

In Spain, production decreased 38.4% year-on-year to 10,010 units.

In China, production declined 12.5% year-on-year to 99,935 units.

Production in other regions was up 6.6% year-on-year to 57,571 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Rogue, which is also produced in Korea for the North America market.

April 2014 - March 2015
Global production for the April 2014-March 2015 period decreased 0.9% year-on-year to 5,030,603 units.

Production in Japan declined 13.0% year-on-year to 870,608 units.

Production outside Japan increased 2.0% year-on-year to 4,159,995 units, marking an all-time record for the April-March period.

Production in the U.S. increased 10.3% year-on-year to 936,792 units, marking an all-time record for the April-March period.

Production in Mexico increased 13.9% year-on-year to 807,145 units, marking an all-time record for the April-March period.

In the U.K., production decreased 6.8% year-on-year to 481,180 units.

In Spain, production decreased 7.1% year-on-year to 130,166 units.

Production in China decreased 7.9% year-on-year to 1,145,092 units.

Production in other regions increased 6.4% year-on-year to 659,620 units.

2. Sales

March 2015
Global sales in March decreased 2.2% year-on-year to 572,302 units.

Sales in Japan, including mini-vehicles, declined 18.0% year-on-year to 84,807 units.

Vehicle registrations in Japan were down 21.3% year-on-year to 53,281 units.

Mini-vehicle sales in Japan decreased 11.8% year-on-year to 31,526 units.

Sales outside Japan were up 1.2% year-on-year to 487,495 units, marking an all-time sales record for a single month.

In the U.S., sales decreased 2.7% year-on-year to 145,085 units.

In Mexico, sales increased 29.8% year-on-year to 28,715 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of March, mainly due to higher sales volume of the X-Trail and the new NP300 Frontier. Nissan has been the sales leader in Mexico for 70 consecutive months.

In Europe, sales increased 3.9% year-on-year to 100,795 units, marking an all-time sales record for a single month, mainly due to increased demand for the X-Trail and the new Pulsar.

In China, sales were down 5.4% year-on-year to 109,633 units.

Sales in other regions decreased 11.6% year-on-year to 86,715 units.

Sales in other regions increased 6.1% year-on-year to 91,988 units.

April 2014 - March 2015
Global sales increased 2.7% year-on-year to 5,329,982 units, marking an all-time record for the April-March period.

Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 623,343 units in Japan, down 13.3% year-on-year.

In Japan, Nissan's vehicle registrations from April 2013 to March 2014 decreased 0.5% year-on-year to 493,384 units.

In Japan, Nissan's vehicle registrations from April 2014 to March 2015 decreased 21.0% year-on-year to 389,864 units.

Mini-vehicle sales in Japan increased 3.5% year-on-year to 233,479 units.

Sales outside of Japan were up 5.3% year-on-year to 4,706,639 units, marking an all-time record for the April-March period.

Sales in the U.S. increased 8.9% year-on-year to 1,399,557 units, marking an all-time record for the April-March period.

In Mexico, sales increased 16.9% year-on-year to 310,374 units, marking an all-time record for the April-March period.

In Europe, sales increased 11.7% year-on-year to 755,137 units, marking an all-time record for the April-March period.

Sales in China declined 2.4% year-on-year to 1,234,765 units.

Sales in other regions increased 0.8% year-on-year to 887,330 units.

3. Japan Exports

March 2015
Nissan's exports in March increased 11.4% year-on-year to 39,500 units, mainly due to increased demand for the X-Trail.

April 2014 - March 2015
Nissan's exports from April 2014 to March 2015 decreased 8.3% year-on-year to 501,507 units.
