Kazakhstan car market grew by 50% due to Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. According to the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", new car registrations in Kazakhstan in January-March of 2015 were 43,900 units. This is more by 49.3% than for the same period of the last year (29.4 thousand units). Moreover, almost 70% of the market (30.2 thousand units) provided by cars, assembled in Russia.
According to the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergey Tselikov, in addition to the Russian LADA (12,3 thousand units) there were imported actively the manufactured in Russia Hyundai (4162 units), Kia (2974 units), Toyota (2306 units) Nissan (1973 units), Renault (1895 units), Volkswagen (1489 units), Chevrolet (1115 units) and other brands to Kazakhstan. Moreover, imports were both formal and informal. "And the main reason for such a significant increase in the popularity of cars, assembled in Russia – is a huge price difference for the same model in Russia and Kazakhstan, which was formed due to the devaluation of the ruble”, - said Mr. Tselikov.
According to the agency, in parallel in Kazakhstan it was increased dramatically the used car market, which is also provided by the importation of cars from Russia. Thus, the total number of re-registrations of Pre-Owned cars in Kazakhstan for the first three months of 2015 was 179,500 cars, which is almost two and a half times more than the same period of the last year (74 thousand units). More than 50 thousand of them are produced in Russia.
