OREANDA-NEWS. Fitch Ratings has published a new Dashboard for Chilean Insurance Industry with 2014 results.

The dashboard looks at global insurance industry performance for fiscal year-end 2014 and highlights year-to-year changes in key performance ratios, mainly focusing on gross written premiums growth and profitability measurements.

In the context of the region, Chile's insurance industry continues to reflect moderate growth compared with peers in the region and compared to the previous year's lower GDP growth of 1.9%. Higher financial incomes during 2014, boosted by the life insurance segment, resulted in a stronger operative ratio, while net loss ratio deteriorated in the same period, mainly in the non-life segment. Investments incomes remained a key element for industry net income, with profitability measurements rising to adequate levels.
