OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2015. HP today announced its latest generation of Pavilion and Envy convertibles and Pavilion notebooks for back to school. These new platforms offer more processor, graphics and display options while continuing to deliver great value to the customer.

Specifically, HP announced:

  • Colorful HP Pavilion x360s that flip from notebook mode for working, stand mode for watching, tent mode for playing games or tablet mode for on the go.
  • Powerful HP ENVY x360 premium convertible that has all of the capabilities of a high-performance notebook, but quickly transforms to stand, tent and tablet modes.
  • Customizable HP Pavilion notebooks that offer customers great value and flexibility with more hardware choices including discrete graphics, higher resolution displays and more vibrant colors choices.

The products announced today are the first HP consumer PCs to be available with Bang & Olufsen and B&O Play audio as part of the audio partnership announced last month.

“Customers told us that they wanted more color choices, more hardware options and better battery life in our Pavilion notebooks and x360 convertible PCs,” said Mike Nash, vice president, portfolio strategy and customer experience, Personal Systems, HP. “With our 2015 Pavilion line up, we have combined bold new colors from Milan with the latest processors to give customers systems with a fresh new look that deliver better performance and battery life across the board.”

Playful and Powerful x360s
Leveraging the design cues of the award winning HP Spectre x360, the HP Pavilion x360s and HP ENVY x360 have an innovative new hinge that uses a set of three spiral gears for synchronized and precise movement to ensure the display glides smoothly and stays in place where the user wants it while maintaining the same thinness when closed or in tablet mode. The new Pavilion x360s are available in a new color palette. The 11 inch HP Pavilion x360 is available in Natural Silver, Sunset Red, Violet Purple and Minty Green, while the 13 inch HP Pavilion x360 comes in Natural Silver and Sunset Red.

The high definition (HD) IPS display that is available on both Pavilion x360s makes gaming and movies more enjoyable with crisp images that look great at any angle, while the 13 inch diagonal HP Pavilion x360 comes with a Full HD display option.(1, 2) For the best sound reproduction, the HP Pavilion x360s have B&O Play audio.

The 11 inch HP Pavilion uses a fanless design, and for 2015 is now available with Intel® Core™ M-5Y10C processors in addition to Intel® Celeron® or Pentium® processors.(3) With a 32 watt-hour battery and the Intel® Core™ M processor, the new 11 inch HP Pavilion x360 packs up to four more hours of power than the previous Pentium-based model. Customers can enjoy up to eight hours and 15 minutes of battery life.(4) The 11 inch HP Pavilion x360 comes with up to 8 gigabyte (GB) of system memory.(5)

The 13 inch HP Pavilion x360 offers customers up to 10 hours and 45 minutes of battery life, an increase of about two and half more hours over the previous version.(4) The 13 inch HP Pavilion x360 supports fifth generation Intel® Core™ i3 and i5 processors(3) and up to1TB of HDD or 128GB solid state drive (SSD) for added speed. The 13 inch HP Pavilion x360 comes with up to 16GB of system memory.(5)

The HP ENVY x360 is redesigned to be sleek and durable with an all new aluminum top and keyboard deck. Also new for 2015 is a 15 inch diagonal IPS touch display available in either HD or Full HD for great viewing and sharing experiences.(1, 2) For premium sound, HP ENVY x360 features Bang & Olufsen audio.

The HP ENVY x360 supports fifth generation Intel® Core™ i5 or i7 processors and up to 16GB of system memory.(3, 5) Customers can choose up to 1TB of traditional hard disk (HDD) storage to store lots of content or have the option for up to 256GB SSD for higher performance.

With a 48 watt-hour battery, more efficient processors and system tuning, battery life on the HP Envy x360 is increased to up to 8 hours and 45 minutes compared to up to 7 hours in the previous version.(4) Even with the larger battery, the HP ENVY x360 weighs almost three quarters of a pound less than the previous generation.(6)

The new convertible PCs announced today include full-sized, 1.5 millimeter travel keyboards to offer customers a comfortable and familiar experience. The HP Pavilion x360s and HP ENVY x360 support a full-sized HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port. The HP ENVY x360 has a HP USB Sleep and Charge port that customers can use to charge other devices such as a cellphone, even when in sleep mode.

Lighter, Thinner, Colorful and Customizable Notebooks
Customers want colors, display and hardware options. The redesigned HP Pavilion notebooks offer customers a variety of hardware choices to match their lifestyle.

The HP Pavilion notebooks have a redesigned unibody chassis for quality and reliability. The HP Pavilion notebooks come in a variety of colors including Natural Silver, Blizzard White, Sunset Red, Cobalt Blue, Violet Purple, Peachy Pink and Twinkle Black. As an added design element, the HP Pavilion notebooks have a gradient metal like finish on the keyboard deck. The optional backlit keyboard makes it easy to work in low-light situations while the dual speakers tuned by B&O Play give customers more immersive sound experiences.

The HP Pavilion notebooks are offered with HD or Full HD, touch or no touch in 14, 15, and 17 inch diagonal displays.(1, 2) Customers have the choice of sixth generation AMD A-Series or fifth generation Intel® Core™ i3 through i7 processors.(3) HP Pavilions come with up to 2 TB of HDD on select models and up to 16 GB of system memory.(5) For the first time, customers have the option to select between AMD Radeon™ and NVidia discrete graphics processors on HP Pavilion notebooks.

For portability and power, the HP Pavilions are thinner and lighter with tuned for longer battery life. The 14, 15, and 17 inch HP Pavilions get up to eight hours and 15 minutes, 7 hours and 30 minutes and 6 hours and 15 minutes of battery life respectively while weight is reduced across the line.(4, 6)
