OREANDA-NEWS. BP is looking to sell its stake in jointly owned pipelines and a gas processing plant on the Gulf of Mexico.

The assets, which are co-owned with Enterprise Products Partners, include the Wilprise and Tri-States pipelines as well as the Pascagoula, Mississippi, gas processing plant, a BP spokesman confirmed to Argus.

BP is exploring divestment of terminal assets in the US given the success of its current supply model, which serves two-thirds of customer needs via third-party terminals.

"We find it a competitive way to supply product effectively and efficiently to our customers," BP said.

The 1.5bn ft3/d gas plant in Pascagoula processes more than half of BP's deepwater Gulf of Mexico gas production, with a liquid removal facility capacity of 10,000 b/d. While the plant is jointly owned with Enterprise Gas Processing, BP is the operator of the plant and liquid removal facility.

Tri-States is an 80,000 b/d pipeline that originates in Mobile, Alabama, and is fed by production from the Pascagoula processing plant. Tri-State moves NGLs to Kenner, Louisiana, where the line interchanges with the 30-mile Wilprise line.

The Wilprise and Tri-States pipelines are majority owned by Enterprise. The midstream giant owns a 74.7pc stake in the Wilprise system and an 83.3pc interest in the Tri-States line.
