NEC Launches New Unified Hospitality Solution Platform
NEC's Application Platform for Hotels provides a variety of hospitality specific functions and applications, including a communications server, PC attendant console, call accounting, voicemail and Property Management System (PMS) interface, all on a single server platform. All of the components are tested and checked prior to installation – reducing the time for installation by up to 50% and the total initial cost by up to 20% when compared with traditional systems.
A PC attendant console is an application designed specifically for the hospitality industry. It improves hotel staff performance and enhances guest services through a specialized keyboard, guest directory integration with the PMS, HotSOS* integration, intuitive wake-up call scheduling, room-direct-inward dialing, guest messages, emergency on-site notifications and the ability to handle higher call volumes more efficiently.
"Agility has become a key IT strategy for global hotel chains, especially in emerging markets, where new hotels must be launched in a timely manner in order to keep pace with the competition," said Jiro Kitakaze, General Manager, Smart Networks Division, NEC Corporation. "Our "total hotel solution in one box" approach is ideal for hotel operators who are looking for easy-to-deploy and cost-effective hospitality solutions."
NEC is planning to continuously enhance the Application Platform for Hotels lineup which integrates a wider range of hospitality applications, such as guest and staff mobility, digital signage and security on the same server platform in order to provide a total hotel solution in one box.
