OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2015. Elastica (www.elastica.net), the leader in Data Science Powered™ Cloud Application Security, today announced at the RSA Conference a partnership to provide Cisco customers with access to Elastica cloud application security solutions. The deal includes a reseller agreement that offers Cisco customers Gartner-defined Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) solutions. The partnership enhances Cisco's current security portfolio, providing their customers access to CASB to address security and compliance risks associated with cloud application and services adoption.

The Cloud Access Security Broker space, according to Gartner, is number 1 of the top 10 security technologies in 2014/2015.1 Gartner expects that in the coming year 27 percent of all enterprises will have over half of their IT in cloud applications. By 2017, 33 percent of enterprises will be adopting cloud applications.2

"The combination of Cisco's threat-centric security portfolio and Elastica's innovation in cloud application security provides a unique opportunity. Our global customers gain additional levels of visibility and control for cloud applications and it enhances our portfolio of advanced cloud-delivered security offerings," said Scott Harrell, VP of Product Management, Cisco Security Business Group. "We are excited to partner with Elastica to deliver an even richer portfolio of on-premises and cloud application security to protect businesses across the attack continuum -- before, during, and after an attack."

As part of the agreement, Elastica offers Cisco customers the CloudSOC™ portfolio, a new breed of cloud app security designed to help enterprises eliminate exposures of sensitive and regulated data, identify and thwart malicious activity, and achieve greater visibility into and control of their use of cloud applications. The agreement includes the entire Elastica product portfolio, including the Audit, Detect, Protect and Investigate apps, as well as the Securlet™ family targeting specific SaaS apps.

Together, Cisco and Elastica will deliver:

Shadow IT Risk Monitoring and Controls:
Elastica's risk assessment enables IT professionals to gain a clear view of the security risks within their organization, and determine which applications should be embraced and which should be blocked. This solution will work with data from Cisco Cloud Web Security (CWS), Web Security Appliance (WSA) and Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services product lines, providing in-depth analysis for each discovered cloud app. A Summary Business Readiness Rating is provided for each app detected, and executive level reports reveal the overall risk profile for the organization.

Visibility and Control for Enhanced Network and Web Security:
Elastica's API-based Securlets complement Cisco CWS, WSA and ASA security solutions by adding out-of-band visibility and controls to enhance network and web security. Leveraging Elastica's content classification technology, ContentIQ™, these Securlets enable enterprises to uncover Shadow Data within their cloud apps that represent potential compliance exposures or data governance risks. Elastica Securlets offer continuous risk assessment of cloud usage, content classification, quarantining and remediation of exposure risks.

Exploitation Detection, Protection and Investigation Capabilities:
Elastica's cloud app learning and event extraction technology, StreamIQ™, performs deep monitoring of risky transactions inside cloud apps used by enterprise employees. The company's ContentIQ technology classifies links and sensitive content moving in and out of cloud apps. These technologies power Elastica Detect, Protect and Investigate Apps that protect organizations against exploitations, account takeovers and malicious use of cloud apps in the enterprise.

"Elastica's CloudSOC stands out by virtue of a wide feature set with some impressive technology underneath thanks to a significant investment in data science talent," said Adrian Sanabria, senior security analyst at 451 Research. "Selecting Cisco as a wide reaching channel is a mutually beneficial move, with Elastica gaining a greater customer reach and Cisco able to offer a product that nicely complements the networking giant's existing offerings."

"CIOs want to empower employees with advanced cloud apps that help enterprises stay agile, productive and competitive in the marketplace. The power of these cloud apps -- information sharing and built-in collaboration capabilities -- also require a completely new approach to security," said Rehan Jalil, President & CEO of Elastica. "Elastica's cloud app security technology, together with Cisco's broad security portfolio and footprint, will help us catalyze the safe and compliant use of cloud apps so that our customers can continue to securely make their businesses more agile and productive."

Elastica's CloudSOC solution will be included in Cisco's global price list. For more information, please visit: http://www.elastica.net/cisco-partnership.
