OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2015. SOT plant has shipped the first batch of pipe bends for the strategic gas pipeline.

In March 2015, the Ural-based plant of Rimera Group (oil service division of ChelPipe Group) shipped the first 50 tons of hot-bent branch connections for Russia's Power of Siberia trunk gas pipeline. The bends measuring 1420mm in diameter and 32 mm wall thickness are made of K60 steel and have Pk-40 anti-corrosion coating. Project shipments of more than 500 tons of pipe bends are scheduled to complete in May this year. The batch will undergo visual control by Business Trend inspection company.

"The Power of Siberia is not the only Gazprom project for which SOT plant will ship in 2Q 2015. Rimera's SOT plant is also planning to ship large batches of pipe bends for the South European gas pipeline and the Yamal LNG project", says Rimera's Commercial Director Konstantin Samsonov.

As previously reported, ChelPipe Group's first plant to have taken part in shipments for the Power of Siberia project was the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant. In 2014, ChelPipe plant shipped more than 30,000 tons of large-diameter pipes for the project. ChelPipe-made LDPs were used in welding of the first gas pipeline joint on September 1. In 2015, the company is planning to continue cooperation with Gazprom in the project.
