Flint Hills Port Arthur reports LOU upset

OREANDA-NEWS. Flint Hills Resources reported an upset at a light olefins unit Saturday at its Port Arthur, Texas, facility, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

An instrument malfunction resulted in opacity from Cracking Furnace H, which lasted approximately 16 minutes. Operators made process adjustments to stop the release.

The unit previously experienced flaring on 15 April following a plant upset.
