In order to minimize these risks, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications has developed and proposes for discussions the vision regarding the coherent management of the cyberspace of the Republic of Moldova, which provides secure processing, movement, storage, preservation and accessibility of data in virtual space.

 “Risks in digital space can be substantially reduced through a systematic approach of all institutions concerned, creation and operationalisation of a national cyber security system expanded in vital areas. This system is an integral part of the National Security System”, the Minister of Information Technology and Communications, Pavel Filip considers.     

The vision proposed by the MITC is confirmed by international experience in the field and acknowledged by the Government through the approval of the National Strategy for the development of Information Society “Digital Moldova 2020”. “The MITC comes with the initiative to combine the efforts of the institutions to develop a Cyber Security Program in accordance with European practice – the EU Strategy for Cyber Security: an open, safe and secure space, as well as other European documents aimed at security of electronic communication networks and information systems” the Minister Pavel Filip specified.

Thus, the Program actions comply with European principles of ensuring cyber security and are adapted to the legislation, regulations and practices applied in the Republic of Moldova, taking into account available resources, which cover two dimensions: institutional and regulatory. Following discussions within the summit, the cyber security program is to be completed and submitted for approval to the Government.
