Bahrain Bourse Hosts the 40th meeting of the Arab Federation of Exchanges (AFE)

OREANDA-NEWS. Bahrain Bourse will host the 40th meeting of the Arab Federation of Exchanges (AFE) that will take place on Monday, 21st April 2015 and will assume its rotating presidency from the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul).

Achievements of the AFE throughout the previous period will be reviewed at the meeting, in addition to the latest updates regarding Arab stock markets, and the approval of the recommendations of the executive committee on financial statements & the auditor's report of 2014. The meeting will also look into the recommendations of the executive committee in regard to the approval of the estimated budget of the federation and the appointment of its auditors for 2015.

Officials of the Arab stock exchanges will address in the meeting several topics listed on the agenda including the review of the action plan prepared by the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) in cooperation with one of the consultancy firms to develop and regulate the federation's scope of work. The meeting will also approve the appointment of a consultancy firm to prepare a clearly defined strategic plan that goes in line with the aspirations of the federation's members that includes an accurate and comprehensive identification of the federation’s key objectives, and covers the functions, duties and obligations of the financial markets and member stock exchanges’ responsibilities. In addition, the best international professional standards that can be used to evaluate the work and achievements of the general secretariat during the upcoming period will be identified.
