OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2015. According to the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, for example, the UN previously informed about their readiness to provide about USD 300 million to assist Ukraine.

"We are ready to offer both Humanitarian response plan concerning the situation which occurred in Ukraine and Needs Assessment to ensure rehabilitation of Donbas, which is now worth approximately USD 1.5 billion. These are rather serious challenges: 1 million IDPs, 5 million people who need assistance. That's what no European country today is capable to cope with alone," urged Hennadii Zubko. He stressed that the aforesaid documents had been drafted jointly by the Ministry of Regional Development, the EU, the UN and the World Bank.

"A lot will depend on how we prepare, what tools to solve existing problems we suggest. We expect this conference will trigger unity of many countries around the problems not just in Ukraine, but in the heart of Europe," he stressed.

"President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is doing everything in power today to achieve ceasefire and peace in Donbas", accentuated the Vice Prime Minister. He reminded about the Minsk accord and a range of measures that Ukraine implements.

"The Government had embarked on the construction of fortification facilities - a powerful defensive line. Thus, we prove that today Ukrainians are resolute to defend their country and the result of democratic reforms", urged Hennadii Zubko.
