OREANDA-NEWS. The company Ford Sollers launched the production of Ford Mondeo sedan of new generation at its plant in Vsevolozhsk. For the starting of production of the new Ford Mondeo it was carried out substantial modernization at the plant, it was installed new equipment and increased automation, improved processes and manufacturing ergonomics. Total investment in the production since the opening of the plant exceeded 400 million Dollars.

“Ford Sollers continues to invest in Russian production and localization. In the second half of 2015, by following the new Ford Mondeo, we will see a new Ford Focus at the conveyor of plant in Vsevolozhsk. And the plant in Naberezhnye Chelny will start the assembly of the new Ford Fiesta. In addition, this year we will launch engine production in Russia”, - said the first vice-president and COO of Ford Sollers, Adil Schirinov.

Ford Mondeo of a new generation will be available to the Russian buyers in the sedan body, in one of four possible complete sets: Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Plus. The range of engines, in addition to the already familiar EcoBoost 2,0 l with a capacity of 199 or 240 hp, includes the engine of a volume of 2.5 liters and 149 hp, which is certified for operation on 92 octane petrol. Prices for the new Ford Mondeo are from 1 million 149,000 to 1 million 799 000 rubles, depending on the configuration. As President and CEO of Ford Sollers, Ted Kannis, said, the company managed to achieve a competitive price of a new Ford Mondeo, as well as to modify the model with taking into account road and climatic conditions in Russia.

Ford Sollers plant in Vsevolozhsk was founded in 2002 and it became the first automotive company of full cycle, which was opened by a foreign company in Russia. At the moment, the capacity is more than 160 thousand cars per year; the plant employs about 1,500 people. The production of Ford Focus and Ford Mondeo is implemented by the technology of full cycle.
