OREANDA-NEWS. According to the statement of work of the Missile Space Center "Progress" JSC (Samara) Shvabe Holding has manufactured experimental samples of lightweight mirror sets for the advanced space satellites "Resurs-PM" and "Aist-2".

The unique mirrors have been created on the basis of an axisymmetric catadioptric lens with an expanded angle of view and minimum mass-dimensional characteristics. They make it possible to take pictures of the Earth's surface in panchromatic (wide) and multispectral (narrow) ranges.

"The purpose of these mirrors is to create an optical image of objects observed from the space on the photosensitive surface of optical-electronic converters and to transform the obtained image into an informational electric signal," said Shvabe Deputy CEO of R&D and innovative development Nikolay Rakovich.

Experimental samples of mirror sets have been manufactured by specialists of Shvabe Holding enterprise Lytkarino Optical Glass Plant OJSC.
