OREANDA-NEWS. President of China Huaneng Group Mr. Cao Peixi, and Vice President Mr. Zhang Tingke, met with H.E. Mr. Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab province of Pakistan, and Mr. Zafaruddin Mahmood, Special Envoy on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Huaneng will give full play to its strength and advantages in energy technology and management, and spare no efforts for the construction and development of the Sahiwal coal-fired power project, so as to provide clean and high-efficiency electricity for Pakistan. Huaneng hopes to get continued support from the government of Punjab province, and also hopes to expand energy cooperation in other fields such as hydropower, wind power and solar energy, etc. on the principle of mutual benefit and common development.

Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Huaneng on its achievements in clean development, energy saving and emissions reduction, as well as technological innovation. He said, China and Pakistan have maintained long-term all-weather friendship. Punjab province is honored to be able to cooperate with Huaneng, and is confident in the prospects of the mutual cooperation. Punjab province will give full support for Huaneng's business development in Pakistan, and hopes to establish long-term partnership with Huaneng in a variety of fields, so as to jointly promote energy development in Punjab province.
