OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2015. Oracle announced six new Oracle Retail cloud services that provide retailers with rapid access to enterprise-grade applications for managing critical e-commerce, customer engagement, order management, order fulfillment, loss prevention, and brand compliance operations. The new cloud services stem from the MICROS Retail solutions acquired by Oracle in 2014, and they are part of a growing portfolio of retail solutions hosted by Oracle and available by subscription.

As technology and consumer expectations reshape the traditional shopping experience, IT departments must rapidly introduce new business capabilities while maintaining existing systems. Oracle Retail Cloud Services help retailers to ensure uptime and efficiency of key operations, while providing consistent, immediately available upgrades—enabling internal IT groups to focus on differentiating the customer experience and driving growth.

“Retailers looking for agility, performance, and cost predictability are increasingly considering the cloud,” said Jill Puleri, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail. “The new Oracle Retail Cloud Services help eliminate the time and cost constraints that too often hamper retailers’ ability to respond to new opportunities for growth. Just as important, Oracle Retail Cloud Services allow retailers to focus on their business and work on strategic projects that add value to the business.”

Oracle Retail Cloud Services leverage Oracle’s expertise in the cloud, security, retail-specific functionality, and networking. They augment the Oracle Cloud, the industry’s broadest portfolio of public cloud services across software as a service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), data as a service (DaaS), and infrastructure as a service (IaaS). Oracle Cloud continues to show strong adoption, supporting 62 million users and 23 billion transactions each day. Oracle Cloud runs on 30,000 devices and 400 petabytes of storage in 19 data centers around the world.
