OREANDA-NEWS. Oleg Ganeev, Deputy Chairman of Sberbank's Executive Board, Head of Sberbank CIB, held a press briefing with journalists from leading business media outlets. The key topic of the briefing was Sberbank CIB's performance in the previous year and the company's main priorities for 2015.

In his presentation the Head of Sberbank CIB pointed out that despite the challenging situation on the markets, in 2014 the operating income target was exceeded, and several divisions, such as the Global Markets Department and Sberbank Merchant Banking, significantly exceeded their business plans (by approximately 130% and more than 250%, respectively). The Client Management Department, Loans Department and Trade Finance and Correspondence Relations Division also delivered healthy results.

In terms of rate of asset growth, Sberbank CIB performed much better than the market, with assets and liabilities growing by almost 40% year-on-year. Among other important achievements in 2014 was the deployment of the Sberbank CIB organisational structure at Regional Banks, which account for almost 50% of profits.

Talking about priorities for this year, Mr Ganeev stated that Sberbank CIB will continue to operate according to the strategy that runs until 2018. The strategy was adhered to in 2014 and fully meets the challenges set by the market. Sberbank CIB's priorities remain unchanged: providing clients with an in-demand suite of products and maintaining first-class client service.

In terms of specific steps needed to achieve the company's goals, the Head of Sberbank CIB highlighted pro-active work with clients in order to strengthen loyalty and increase satisfaction, packaging of products and services and using them to create tailor-made financial solutions, expanding operations at Regional Banks, and improving business processes and client & product teams.
