Belarusbank sponsors international trade finance conference
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarusbank became the title sponsor of Belarus & CIS: Trade finance 2015 conference which opened in Minsk on March 18. The international conference was organized by Worldwide Expert Conferences Ltd.
The conference attracted representatives of the banking industry and business sector of the CIS, as well as western investors, who visited Minsk to analyze the existing opportunities and work out a strategy of cooperation in the sphere of trade finance. Among the participants there were representatives of the financial circles of Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Austria, Italy, etc.
The first day of the conference was dedicated to Belarus, namely, its economic climate, the outlook for the current year and the role of Belarus on the global finance market. Another topic discussed was Belarus’ demand for export and trade finance.
In his opening speech Belarusbank Chairman of the Board Siarhei Pisaryk noted that such forums prove that Belarus has an open policy. In his words, the country is characterized by financial stability, predictability of business and a flawless credit history.
“We can see that our western partners are open for meaningful dialogue. I would like to stress that the development of international cooperation stands on top of Belarusbank’s list of priorities. We offer a wide range of products in the spheres of trade finance, documentary operations, export and pre-export lending in association with national insurers. In addition, Belarusbank helps to arrange business meetings, presentations, consultations both in Belarus and abroad. In 2014 alone Belarusbank brought over \$3.5 billion of credit resources to the national economy”, he said.
Despite the prominent results that the bank has achieved, the potential is far from being exhausted, the Chairman said. In this connection Siarhei Pisaryk invited the guests of the conference to join the Belarusbank’s initiatives and the investment projects of its customers. According to the head of Belarusbank, the joint effort will further strengthen mutually rewarding connections in any activity field.
First Vice Chairman of the National Bank of Belarus Taras Nadolny referred to the conference as a landmark event. His report focused on the macroeconomic situation of Belarus and the analysis of the banking industry trends.
The agenda of the conference contained topic-based discussions, presentations and case studies of Belarus’ successful trade finance deals. By supporting projects of the kind, Belarusbank confirms its dedication to improvement of Belarus’ image economy. Such projects demonstrate our willingness to discuss mutually useful and beneficial ideas and initiatives and contribute to the success of international business relations.
