AUTOSTAT: What will happen to prices for used cars?
OREANDA-NEWS. Will decrease prices for used cars? On this question, as it turned out today at the on-line conference on Finam.ru, the experts of the automotive market have no single answer.
Thus, the independent expert Alexei Zakharov thinks that Russians hardly should wait for lower prices for used cars. His argument: "The prices of the secondary market depend on the ratio of the volume of supply and demand. Now many owners cannot afford to replace an old car for a new one, so the proposal is to be reduced. Demand is also reduced, but I think the decline will be less, at best case - at the level of demand”.
Director of analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergey Tselikov, believes that the reduction will be: "The sharp rise in prices for used cars was observed in December (in average +13%) and then, in January-March, but slightly less (on average by 4-6 %). As a result, we have a serious increase compared to the last year ... But this is the price offer on the web sites Avto.ru, Avito, etc., that is the price that the seller wants to see. The prices of real transactions, though increased, but not so much. Plus it was increased the difference between "Wishlist" and the actual transactions, it reaches now 15%. In parallel, at the end of 2014 – the beginning of 2015 the number of proposals reduced. Now the number of proposals increases, and prices on the secondary market, probably, will fall ... Closer to the summer they will be even cheaper.
