OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2015. Tata Pigments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, has surpassed the previous records of production and sales in the financial year 2014-15 and created new records. Tata Pigments has produced prime pigments of 3,653 tonnes during the financial year 2014-15 as against 3,529 tonnes in the previous year, registering a growth of 3.51 percent.

Total sales - pigments & paints is 18,904 tonnes during the financial year 2014-15 as against 17,586 tonnes for the previous year, registering a growth of 7.50 percent.

In the industrial decorative & coating services (IDCS) business, the company has achieved a business of Rs20 crore by registering a growth of 20 percent over the last year.

During the year, Tata Pigments developed, produced and marketed 450 tonnes - an import substitute pigments product for paint and construction industry.  

This is the first time Tata Pigments has crossed a total turnover figure of Rs100 crore. During the last six years, the company’s turnover has gone up from Rs32 crore in FY2009 to Rs100 crore in FY2015, a growth of 212 percent over FY2009.

On this occasion, managing director, Prakash Sarode and Raju Tudu, general secretary, Tata Pigments Workers’ Union jointly cut the cake and addressed the employees.
