OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2015.  Sphero, the leader in Connected Play, is set to debut its first branded cartoon series, Las Aventuras de Sfero y Jhonny-C, this fall. The 25 episode series will air on the Mexican entertainment network, Telefantasa.

Sphero has assembled a world-class team to create and produce the show including a team of renowned animators based in Jalisco, Mexico and Emmy award nominated composer Daniel Ingram, whose recent credits include My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Littlest Pet Shop, Pound Puppies & Martha Speaks.

Set in Toma, a fictitious town west of the Universe, Las Aventuras de Sfero y Jhonny-C is the story of four friends who work for the most popular and scrumptious candy company that exists. Popular is an understatement when it comes to the demand for their candy -- they travel all over, to the farthest and strangest worlds to deliver their treats, bringing smiles to people everywhere they go.

Unbeknownst to Jhonny-C and his friends, The Triangles, an emerging evil candy rival, have plans to take over the Universe and the candy market. The Triangles hire Paula The Star, a clever gal known for her shifty ways, to infiltrate Jhonny-C's company as their delivery manager. Once part of the crew, Paula sends Jhonny and his pals into the most dangerous places in the Universe, getting them into trouble everywhere they go. With Sfero to the rescue, their trouble quickly turns into an exciting adventure.

Leading Sphero's animation strategy is Disney vet Rob Maigret; he recently joined the company in the new role of Chief Creative Officer (CCO).

"An animated series has been in the cards for a while now. Sphero has resonated with fans across the globe and we've witnessed difficulties in the past connecting with the emerging LATAM market. We feel that this incarnation of Sphero, Sfero, will truly resonate," said Rob Maigret, CCO. "To this regard, we have partnered with some amazing local talent and allowed them to run with our concept."
