OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2015. Transstroymekhanizatsiya LLC, a subsidiary of PJSC Mostotrest, continues the construction of the Vladivostok - Nakhodka - Vostochny Port Highway on the km 0 – km 18.5 section in Primorsky Territory. The work is performed on startup facilities II and III. Transstroymekhanizatsiya specialists will reconstruct the existing highway, including the construction of several engineering facilities, such as flyovers, bridges, and interchanges. The project is expected to be completed in 1Q2016.

A new IB four-lane highway totaling 15 meters width will be built on this section. The construction of artificial structures is currently underway, including the construction of bridges over the rivers Orlovka and Ozyornye Klyuchi. Two out of the four overpasses will become part of new transport interchanges. The first T interchange (a trumpet interchange) will separate the local road network of the village of Knevichi and transit traffic on the new highway; the second, a cloverleaf interchange, will be built at the crossing of the grade I Vladivostok - Nakhodka road and the category II Artyom - Artyomovski road. The construction of the single lane railway on km 8.5 at the railway crossings is currently underway. Transstroymekhanizatsiya specialists also continues the construction of the highway over a two-lane railway on km 15.5. Currently, they are focusing on road subgrade, the reorganization of utility lines, and work on the construction of a pedestrian bridge.

The project is an extension of the reconstruction of the section: the first startup facility, on km 0 – km 3.5, was commissioned in August 2012. Startup facilities II and III include the reconstruction of the existing two-lame highway, starting at km 3.5

The reconstruction involves the necessary construction of a large, temporary bypass roads. A challenging engineering component of the project is the availability of communications, relining of heating networks and sewerage networks and electricians.

The km 0 – km 18.5 section of the Vladivostok - Nakhodka - Vostochny Port Highway is located within the Artyom Municipal District of Primorsky Territory and is the main traffic artery of the southern part of the Far East. The highway is a part of the traffic hub that incorporates the major Russian seaports Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Vostochny and belongs to the Primorye-1 international transport corridor.

The project, deemed crucial for the Far Eastern Region, will bring about an increase in freight and passenger traffic, boost the traffic capacity of the section under reconstruction and streamline transit traffic.
