Huawei D-CCAP Participates in CableLabs® DOCSIS® 3.1 Interoperability Tests
With the purpose of advancing the commercial use of DOCSIS 3.1 technology, CableLabs completed two rounds of multi-vendor interoperability tests involving equipment providers, device chipset manufacturers and instrument vendors worldwide.
During the interoperability tests, Huawei's D-CCAP solution completed 192 MHz-wide downstream channel modulation using 4096QAM. This outcome showed significant enhanced bandwidth, an increase to 2.5 Gbit/s, four times more than previous generations of the technology. Huawei also completed upstream physical layer modulation with 1024QAM@ 48MHz.
Wang Zhengan, President, Access Network Product Line, Huawei, said, "The success of the tests carried out by CableLabs demonstrates Huawei's innovative capabilities in DOCSIS technology. Our commitment to the cable market is reflected in our ongoing innovative work. We look forward to collaborating with CableLabs again to promote the commercial use of DOCSIS 3.1 technology and meeting MSOs’ requirements for ultra-broadband network construction."
As a world leading telecommunications equipment provider, Huawei has been committed to converged ultra-broadband innovation of DOCSIS networks. After participating in drafting DOCSIS 3.1 specifications with CableLabs and rolling out a DOCSIS3.1 prototype at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) 2014 Cable-Tec Expo, Huawei has unveiled the industry's first 32-channel D-CCAP solution.
