OREANDA-NEWS. Three consolidated subsidiaries of Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC), namely Nippon Steel & Sumikin Technology Corporation, Ltd. (NSST), Nippon Steel & Sumikin Kansai Industries, Ltd. (NSKI), and Kantoc Roll, Ltd. are scheduled to integrate and reorganize their railway engineering businesses into a new company and establish a manufacturing process company for the Osaka Steel Works on April 1, 2015. These changes had been announced last July; newly determined details are as stated below.

Working with NSSMC's Railway, Automotive & Machinery Parts Unit, Nippon Steel & Sumikin Railway Technology will contribute to railway safety and reliable transportation by supplying a broad range of products extending from railway vehicle parts to railway maintenance equipment.

Nippon Steel & Sumikin Kansai Machining will integrate NSKI's business of machining and manufacturing of dies for forging and Kantoc's business of manufacturing forged rolls, both being operated at the Osaka Steel Works of NSSMC's Railway, Automotive & Machinery Parts Unit. By this integration, the new company will ensure and maintain the technologies and skills, closely cooperate with the Osaka Steel Works, improve manufacturing capability, and further enhance product competitiveness.
