Alstom secures power supply contract of Kochi metro, making it the main supplier for the line

OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2015. Alstom[1] was awarded a contract worth €9 million from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to provide receiving and auxiliary main substations for the Kochi metro. This contract includes high voltage cabling from the state grid for the new 25 kilometer long metro line. Alstom is the main supplier of Kochi metro after it has been awarded previous orders for 25 Metropolis trainsets[2], signalling, telecom and electrification[3]. Commercial service is scheduled to begin in March 2016.

Under this new contract, Alstom is in charge of the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 110kV cabling incoming from the grid (incl. civil works), 2x GIS[4] 110kV Intake Power Substations and their associated Power Transformers 110kV/33kV, and 33kV/415V Auxiliary Transformers. 

"With this new contract, which is, by the way, the first metro receiving sub-station contract for Alstom Transport in India, we are supplying most of the Kochi metro line.
