Volkswagen supports the Anniversary Exhibition in the Hamburg Deichtorhallen
To commemorate their 25th anniversary after a round of extensive renovation and conversion, Hamburg's Deichtorhallen are again open to the public with a memorable exhibition of contemporary art. The impact of Picasso's revolutionary work on other artists will be shown in a collection of 200 pieces marking 80 years of creative achievement. The museum will be featuring work by among others Cindy Sherman, Marlen Dumas, Georg Baselitz, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol and Roy Liechtenstein.
Benita von Maltzahn, Head of Cultural Engagement within Volkswagen Group Communications, commented on occasion of the exhibition opening: "The Deichtorhallen are both a magnet and source of inspiration for art lovers. We are pleased to commemorate the successful completion of the redesign by supporting a compelling exhibition offering visitors a wealth of extraordinary works of art."
Helping to make this exhibition possible is part of the extensive commitment of the Volkswagen Group to support new approaches within art and culture, creativity being seen as a vital prerequisite for innovation. So far, Volkswagen Group has helped realize acclaimed shows and concerts in New York, Rio de Janeiro and Berlin, based on longtime partnerships with museums and focusing on the worldwide development of cultural and educational programs.
