OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2015. Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius, President of WNISEF Jaroslawa Johnson and Chairman of the USAID Mission in Ukraine Jed Barton signed a memorandum of understanding that will allow the launch of a USD30 million program of technical support in the near future. The program provides assistance for the development of Ukrainian exports, support for socially responsible businesses that will create jobs for refugees, ATO veterans and other vulnerable segments of the population, the third direction of the use of funds - professional development of young Ukrainian managers (including the state ones) and the fourth is the development of public - private partnerships.

Aivaras Abromavicius told that the money of the Fund, among other things, would be used for the reorientation of Ukrainian exports to other markets and stressed the importance of supporting social entrepreneurs.

"We will help companies that will create jobs for vulnerable citizens - refugees, ATO veterans, Crimean Tatars and other groups of people," Aivaras Abromavicius underlined.

He emphasized the need for implementing systemic changes in the country, in particular, it is important that the state be led by high-level professionals.

"Now our country is actively changing and we are able to introduce the best, most advanced, most proven management practices," the Minister of Economic Development stressed.

He thanked the U.S. Government, USAID and WNISEF for macro-financial assistance aimed at supporting Ukraine as well as economic stabilization.

"We understand that this is a unique case when such funds are transferred for the purpose of training public managers and resolving other structural problems – the search for new exports markets, development of civil society in the regions, etc. We really appreciate this opportunity," Aivaras Abromavicius added.

Details of the implementation of the fund’s programs will be coordinated soon.
