OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2015. The Government is trying to ensure transparent and swift administration of social security schemes through e-initiatives for the employees and employers. This was stated by Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment (IndependentCharge) while  inaugurating the newly constructed building of Sub- Regional Office (SRO) of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Rohtak today. The Minister appreciated the new initiatives by EPFO.

These include allotment of  Universal Account Number (UAN) to all EPF subscribers to address the issues of multiple account numbers and transfer of PF accumulations from one account to another when an employee changes job among other benefits, Know your claim facility for tracking the status of claim application, facilities to Know your balance and e-passbook, for viewing remittances and members name, Online Transfer Claim Portal (OTCP) to file claim for transfer electronically from one account to another, Provision of allotment of PF codes number online(OLRE)Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR)  facilitating online payment of PF contributions and submission of returns, adoption of a new software (Batch Processing Software) for timely updating the annual accounts status of the subscribers, EPF Internet Grievance Monitoring System (EPFiGMS and  Electronic payments of benefits.  Almost 98% of the payments made at present are through the electronic mode using the National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) and Core Banking Solution (CBS) features of the banks.

            The Sub-Regional Office, Rohtak building  with about  18,000 square feet covered area has cost Rs.7.0 crores. This office  caters to the establishments and members covered under the EPF & MP Act in the seven districts of Jind,Sirsa,Fatehabad,Bhiwani,Jhajhar, Rohtak and Hissar in Haryana.Around 6400 establishments and 5.43 lakh members are serviced by SRO,Rohtak. It is one of the best performing offices of EPFO and in the current financial year,around 58,000 claims were settled and more than 95%all of them were settled within 3 days’ time.the Sub Regional Office is ISO 9001 compliant.

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) administers three schemes for ensuring social security of the working class-

-Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952 (EPF) – A scheme for ensuring retirement savings and also for taking care of contingencies

-Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 (EPS) - A scheme for granting pensionary benefits to the workers and includes members pension, widow pension, children pension, orphan pension and nomine pension.A guaranteed  minimum pension of Rs.1,000/- per month for member, widow and disabled pensioner

-Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976 (EDLI)–An insurance scheme in which the benefits are payable on death of the member while in service. The maximum payable is Rs. 3,60,000/-.
