Cargill Limited contest gives back to communities
“Canada’s rural communities are a big part of Cargill’s heritage,” says Jeff Vassart, President and Business Unit Leader, Cargill Limited. “There are countless organizations that make our communities wonderful places to live and work, and we want to support them.”
The Together We Thrive contest will award six grants of \\$25,000 to six community organizations in Ontario, Manitoba, North Saskatchewan, South Saskatchewan, Alberta and the Peace Region that share one of Cargill’s core values: food security and nutrition, education and environmental stewardship.
“We are looking forward to learning about all the great charitable work that is going on in the communities we serve,” says Vassart. “This is one contest in which everyone can participate – whether you are nominating an organization or voting for a cause that is meaningful to you. Help us invest this money where it’s needed most.”
The contest runs from April 15 until June 30, 2015. Winners will be selected by a panel of Cargill judges based on financial need, the quality of submission, the impact the project will have in the community, how well the applicant shares Cargill’s values and the number of online votes received by the applicants. Winners will be announced in August, 2015. To learn more about the Together We Thrive contest visit: www.togetherwethrive.ca
