OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2015. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.

In the course of the conversation, Jean-Claude Juncker has informed that he had to postpone his visit to Kyiv planned for Monday, March 30, due to unforeseen health conditions. The parties have agreed to coordinate new date of the visit via diplomatic channels and confirmed that the Summit Ukraine-EU would be held on April 27.

Petro Poroshenko has also asked the President of the European Commission to facilitate consideration of the opportunity of sending peacekeeping contingent to Ukraine within the Common Security and Defence Policy by the EU institutions.

The parties have touched upon the issue of additional mechanisms for increasing the macro-financial aid and participation of the EU in the international conference on support to Ukraine.

The interlocutors have also discussed the agenda of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga. President Poroshenko has emphasized the need for settling the issue of Ukraine's accession to the Agreement on Common Aviation Area and urged the European Commission to find mechanisms for compromise in order to sign the given Agreement within one of the nearest summits with participation of Ukraine and the EU.
