"We continue to manufacture cars BMW, KIA and Hyundai; we also plan to launch new models. In particular, the plant in Kaliningrad is launching a new model Kia Sorento and it produces BMW X6 model of 2015," - a spokesman said.

As previously reported, since March "Avtotor" froze the production capacity (up to 50% of total capacity), involved in the production of cars General Motors. The company refused to produce them in Kaliningrad. In this regard, the Russian company will cut about 500 employees until June.

"Avtotor" is in talks with potential partners about the production at mothballed capacity of products by new contracts. "But it is doubtful these agreements will be signed this year", - the company said.

Company "Avtotor" was founded in 1994 in Kaliningrad and it was the first Russian company, which began the assembly of foreign cars. Production started in 1997 and it has already exceeded 1.4 million cars. Currently, the company produces vehicles under the brands BMW, KIA, Hyundai, TATA Daewoo, and Ford
