Deutsche Telekom Announces Adam Sawicki new CEO in Poland
“With Adam Sawicki at the helm of T-Mobile Polska, it is clear that we have the right man to tackle the Polish telecommunications market and industry. As a former CEO of GTS Central Europe and with his extensive international experience in the business and residential markets, he is a perfect strategic fit to help us ‘Lead in Business’ – a key element in our company’s strategy - and integrate the GTS operations we recently acquired,” said Claudia Nemat, Board member for Europe & Technology. “Already now I would like to thank Zacharias for his hard work as interim CEO of T-Mobile Polska. He shows true enthusiasm in mastering this task in a hard-fought market that has no shortage of challenges. ”
Sawicki is currently the President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Netia, the second-largest fixed-line network operator in Poland. From 2008 to 2011, he was Chief Executive Officer of GTS Central Europe and, between 2011 and 2012, he was President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Ruch Internet. During that time he participated in numerous projects including strategic transformation of operators, both on the business (B2B) and the residential (B2C) markets. He worked in a number of senior management positions in various companies of the Telia Group (later TeliaSonera), gaining international experience in the Scandinavian, British, Irish, Russian, Polish and other Central European telecommunications markets. Adam started his professional career in 1996 at Telia Swedtel, Stockholm, as a Consultant in the Business Development Department.
