Aeroflot and Aerolineas Argentinas Announce Codeshare Agreement
The agreement between the two airlines, both members of the SkyTeam global alliance, will strengthen the carriers’ positions in both markets and provide customers with greater convenience and flexibility in their travel. Madrid and Barcelona will serve as the transit hubs for the code-shared flights.
Subject to regulatory approval, Aerolineas Argentinas will place its ‘AR’ code on services operated by Aeroflot between Moscow and Buenos Aires via both Madrid and Barcelona. Aeroflot will place its ‘SU’ code on flights operated by Aerolineas Argentinas between Buenos Aires and Moscow via Madrid and Barcelona.
Aerolineas Argentinas President and Chief Executive Officer Mariano Recalde said: "This agreement with Aeroflot will offer our customers unparalleled access to the Russian market and open new opportunities for Russians traveling to Buenos Aires or elsewhere in Argentina thanks to our strong domestic network."
