OREANDA-NEWS. March 20, 2015. Huawei unveiled its latest terabit Next Generation Anti-Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Solution at CeBIT 2015 in Hannover, Germany. The solution facilitates the prevention of DDoS attacks to improve the security and competitive edge of enterprises across the Europe region. Together with Black Lotus, a leading managed security service provider (MSSP) in the United States, Huawei also announced additional services offered through its DDoS cloud scrubbing center in Amsterdam, the first facility of its kind in Europe.

Mr. Edwin Diender, Chief Technology Officer of Huawei's Switch & Enterprise Communications Solution Sales Department, expressed at the press conference that the impact of DDoS attacks on enterprises has become more severe in our current era of cloud computing, mobile Internet, and the Internet of Things. He said, “Enterprises, network operators, and Internet service providers (ISPs) are becoming increasingly concerned about DDoS attacks, which has resulted in the adoption of more stringent requirements for anti-DDoS solutions to provide precise and efficient protection and the ability to jointly maintain a secure network environment. Huawei's next generation anti-DDoS solution not only provides precise protection, but also supports managed services to provide security support in partnership with managed security service providers (MSSPs)."

At the press conference, Huawei and Black Lotus announced the opening of its European DDoS cloud scrubbing center that enables them to provide traffic cleaning services for European customers. Mr. Frank Ip, Vice President of Black Lotus, said “We are proud to confirm that the scrubbing center built in Amsterdam by Black Lotus is capable of defending against 160G DDoS traffic and provides protection for tier-1 and tier-2 European network operators. Black Lotus has established many DDoS scrubbing centers around the world, providing a total defense capability of 1.4 Tbit per second and has prevented millions of DDoS attacks. Now, Black Lotus has partnered with Huawei to offer hybrid DDoS mitigation services in Europe with the aim of building a more secure network environment with partners in the industry."

Huawei’s Next Generation Anti-DDoS Solution uses big data technology to build traffic models in over 60 dimensions to prevent hundreds of DDoS attacks without unintentionally interrupting legitimate requests. Huawei's powerful and most current IP reputation technologies can accurately identify zombie hosts while improving the Internet access experience of legitimate users. Moreover, Huawei’s anti-DDoS solution provides an operation portal and a standard interface that connects to a third-party operation portal and supports the security operations of MSSPs.

A secure network environment requires efficient collaboration between security vendors, service providers, and end users. The cooperation between Huawei and Black Lotus in DDoS cloud scrubbing marks the start of Huawei’s partnerships with MSSPs in creating secure network environments. Huawei is eager to work with more ISPs and operators in the industry to develop a cloud scrubbing services ecosystem. Prior to the opening of the cloud scrubbing center in Amsterdam, Huawei’s anti-DDoS products were deployed by many ISPs in Europe, providing professional DDoS protection for companies including The Netherland's NBIP, Serverius, and Byte. Following the cloud scrubbing services partnership between Huawei and MSSPs, Huawei hopes that more European customers will benefit from Huawei’s anti-DDoS services.
