Anadarko takes 20pc stake in Saddlehorn

OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2015. US independent producer Anadarko will buy a 20pc interest in the Saddlehorn pipeline from the Denver Julesberg basin in Colorado to Cushing, Oklahoma.

Anadarko is a shipper on the line, along with Noble. Magellan Midstream Partners and Plains All American Pipeline will each hold a 40pc ownership in the line.

The 550-mile, \\$800mn-850mn pipeline will enter Cushing facilities owned by Plains and Magellan and could also carry crude from other Rocky Mountain production areas. The companies are also weighing an extension to Carr, Colorado, where Plains owns a crude-by-rail terminal. The 20-inch pipeline will have an ultimate capacity of 400,000 b/d and an expected initial capacity of 200,000 b/d. The line is expected to come online in mid-2016.
