OREANDA-NEWS. According to the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", in January-February of 2015, the number of stolen cars in Russia decreased by 3.3% (compared to the same period of the last year) and it was 5322 units.

Most often hijackings in January and February there were made in Moscow (1022 units) and St. Petersburg (956 units) – it is 37.2% of all car thefts in the country. It is worth noting that two months of this year, the number of car thefts in both capitals decreased compared with the same period of the last year (-11.5% and -8.6%, respectively). There is Moscow region in the third place (571 units, + 2%). Fourth place – is occupied by the Sverdlovsk region (222 units), the fifth - by the Krasnoyarsk Territory (175 units), the sixth place - by the Krasnodar Territory (171 units). The top-10 regions by thefts also includes: Novosibirsk (163 units), Chelyabinsk (152 units), Leningrad (139 units) and Samara (118 units) regions. Growth of hijackings in the first two months was observed in the Krasnoyarsk region (+ 75%), Novosibirsk (+ 33.6%), in the Chelyabinsk region (+ 13.4%).
