OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2015. Huawei today proposed its "Maximizing Network Energy Efficiency" methodology at MWC 2015, a new approach to help customers improve network energy efficiency and maximize operation profit.

The explosion of information from the increase in mobile broadband (MBB) and big data usage has put greater pressure on operators to control their carbon emissions. Huawei believes that the future of the ICT industry lies in reducing carbon emissions to improve environmental sustainability – specifically by decreasing the number of building sites, network operation, and so forth. Huawei believes that its three step "Maximizing Network Energy Efficiency" methodology, which includes network efficiency assessment, efficiency improvement and efficiency management, can help operators systematically construct their own green MBB networks and maximize operation profit.

Huawei’s efficiency methodology covers energy consumption optimization and energy utilization across form equipment, site, and network levels. The efficiency assessment enables customers to analyze the Energy Utilization Ratio (EUR) in their networks and identify any gaps as compared with benchmarks. Once the efficiency assessment has been completed, customers can then choose from Huawei’s full series of telecom energy solutions to support a range of energy efficiency improvement needs across their entire networks.

From modernizing legacy machine rooms to building new sites, Huawei provides a comprehensive range of high efficiency solutions. In addition, Huawei builds management systems that include whole network energy efficiency management functions, enabling easier management of performance indicators and energy efficiency.
