OREANDA-NEWS. Sollers plant in Vladivostok reduces more than 25% of employees - almost 200 of 750 - in connection with the optimization of the structure due to falling demand for cars. The Employment Center in Vladivostok informed about it the agency “TASS”. As reasons for the reduction of employees it was called the optimization of industrial structure. Thus, the plant reduces locksmith, storekeepers, polishers, pickers, technicians, painters, test drivers, and others.

Earlier, a leading expert on public relations of "Mazda Sollers Manufacturing RUS”, Catherine Hatkovskaya, said that optimization is related directly to the fall in demand for cars, caused by the current economic situation. The process, according to her, would not affect the line of cars produced and it will not affect the number of produced models.

Sollers plant operates in Vladivostok since 2009 and it combines three production sites. At the first one it is produced SsangYong SUVs of various models and modifications. In 2012, the serial production of cars was started at the company "Mazda Sollers Manufacturing RUS", which is producing crossovers Mazda CX-5 and sedan Mazda 6. In February of 2013 the joint venture "Sollers-Bussan" started the production of SUV Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Last year, the plant produced 67,581 cars, by keeping the production volume at the level of 2013.

According to the statistics of the Association of Russian ports, in January-February of 2015 Sollers Plant received no more than 120 kits. In this case, the company almost didn’t have reserve kits since 2014.
