Isle of Grain to receive Algerian cargo

OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2015. The 138,000m Berge Arzew is expected to deliver a cargo to the 14.8mn t/yr Isle of Grain terminal on 18 March, the first Algerian vessel to visit the terminal since October 2014.

The tanker will be the second to visit the Isle of Grain so far this month. The 210,100m? Al Oraiq brought a Qatari cargo to the terminal on 3 March.

Isle of Grain stocks stood at 58pc of capacity on 15 March. The terminal could easily accommodate a full cargo from the Berge Arzew, which would push stocks to 71pc of capacity on 18 March if the 5.3mn m?/d pace of regasification over the last week is maintained.

The Isle of Grain last received an Algerian cargo aboard the 75,500m? Cheikh el Mokrani last October, while the Berge Arzew last visited the terminal in October 2013. Sonatrach holds capacity at the Isle of Grain.

The Berge Arzew last delivered an Algerian cargo to the Chinese port of Jiangsu in late January. But high levels of supply availability in Asia-Pacific and weak end-user spot demand have made Algerian cargoes less competitive in the Pacific so far this year compared with last year.
