Volkswagen to pay employees covered by collective bargaining agreements a performance-related bonus of €5,900
Dr. Horst Neumann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft responsible for Human Resources, said: “In 2014, the employees of Volkswagen produced a strong team performance in several markets despite the difficult conditions. This commitment will pay for each and every employee.” Neumann also underlined the advantages of the remuneration structure at Volkswagen: “Volkswagen pays a fair basic salary, ensures that everyone participates in success and honors individual commitment by a performance-oriented remuneration component. It is always necessary to maintain a balance between rewarding performance and safeguarding jobs.”
General Works Council Chairman Bernd Osterloh commented: “The Board of Management decided jointly with us that the workforce at our plants had earned a good bonus in view of the high workload and successful business development in Europe. This bonus is therefore significantly higher than the figure calculated on the basis of the collective bargaining agreement. Above all, this year’s bonus reflects the fact that we have achieved good results with models and components produced in Germany.” Osterloh also underlined that the agreements reached on the collective pay agreement and the performance-related bonus maintained the balance between competitiveness and safeguarding jobs.
